PWA-first product direction

Installable web app today. Native stores later.

ReturnMyShit is built as an installable Progressive Web App first, so owners and borrowers can use the same live account, marketplace, missing-board, check-in, and return-proof workflows from a browser without waiting for app-store packaging.

What works now

  • Install prompt from supported browsers.
  • Home-screen launch with the site manifest and service worker.
  • Photo-backed item records, custody trails, check-ins, messages, and recovery-board access.
  • Same account and data on phone, tablet, and desktop browsers.

What is not promised yet

  • No public App Store or Google Play availability claim.
  • No native-store release schedule until packaging, credentials, and release ownership are approved.
  • No separate mobile-only account path; the browser/PWA surface is the production path.

Install from the browser

Use the top-bar install control when your browser shows it. If the button is hidden, the browser may already consider the app installed, may not support the install prompt, or may require using its own Add to Home Screen menu.

Native app-store packaging remains tracked as a blocked operations item until developer accounts, signing credentials, store ownership, and release cadence are approved.

Phone and tablet readiness

The mobile readiness contract tracks iPhone, iPad/tablet, Android-later, PWA, deep-link, and API wrapper expectations in one place.
